Hello

I'm mating an H55F gearbox (that was attached to a 3B in a BJ73) to a 1HDT and just wanted to check my understanding is correct.
I know I need to change the bearing retainer as well, but....

For the release bearing I understand I would just use this one. Suitable for HZJ73 / 1HZ and HDJ81 / 1HDT combinations, is that correct?

LoL, cheers

That's all part of the fun. Working with what you have.
Especially when time is free.

After some further investigations, I can close out this query with the following....

That release bearing specified (Suitable for HZJ73 / 1HZ and HDJ81 / 1HDT combinations) is in fact correct. You could "possibly" adapt the existing 3B bearing, carrier, bearing retainer, fork, housing, but would require a lot of mucking around.

Cleaner solution that aligns with an HZJ73 is the new release bearing, fork and adjustment to the bearing retainer.
For bearing retainer, is is either cutting it down to the shorter HZJ73, or just purchase the HZJ73 one.
