Refinishing FJ40 front seat - latch removal (1 Viewer)

Does anyone know if this latch can be removed from the front seat bracket? I want to paint my seat frames, and i need to separate the latch from the bracket for painting.

yes.
but it requires a grinder and a replacement part...i think sor carries a replacment.

Thank you for the information about the SOR part. They're $100 for a set! They look good, though.

So, it's impossible to remove that part without rendering it unusable?
