Hot food on the fly is now possible. I cobbled together a manifold food warmer today using bits of material I had laying around. It’s my patented Flow Through design that bolts to the head and has two support legs fastened to the exhaust manifold to carry the weight of those super burritos. 6” x 12” or 72 square inches of food warming space. :bounce:

For the past 5 to 6 years I’ve been running a pair of 4” Anzo brand HID off road lights. They aren’t the best but put out decent light. Recently one of them became foggy looking inside and this affected the light output so I disassembled it to clean it. What I discovered was that dirt and, no doubt water, had gotten inside. Was not a lot but it was there. As I attempted to clean the reflector with windex the defective coating began to come off. Into the garbage that light went.

Online I found Black Oak brand LED lights which I hadn’t heard of before. Their prices are better than that of Rigid brand so I ordered a pair of their 2” pods with IP69 rating.

The housings are cast aluminim with a ceramic type of coating and quite heavy duty. The wiring harness is robust and utilizes connector seals similar to the oem connectors. Lights are sold each and come with their own harness including relay and switch. They sell a harness to connect lights in pairs or

quads to operate off one relay and one switch. I upgraded the inline fuse from 5a to 10a and ran one relay and switch. Tonight I’ll be up in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest hunting Bigfoot so I’ll be able to test these new lights out.

That’s seriously one of the most epic shots. I want to see the coming down.
Thanks. I decided to leave the crossing of that log for another time when I have another rig and driver with me.

Last week I noticed my brake pedal sinking closer to the floor. I pulled the lid from the MC and found mucho gunk. With a syringe, I sucked all the dark, contaminated fluid out and laying on the bottom of the reservoir were pieces and particles of what appeared to be piston seals. Four of these pieces were so large I’m surprised they were able to migrate up through the tiny hole from the pressure chamber into the reservoir.

If you have read my story, you know that I installed a hydro-booster and Wilwood tandem master cylinder in the spring of 2019. I contacted Wilwood and got their attention with some photos of what I found. They sent me a new MC right away and emailed me a shipping label so I would be inclined to return this failed MC to their engineering department for analysis.

Yesterday, I swapped out the MC’s, and did the, now simple, gravity bleeding of the system and the brakes are back.

You have to appreciate an American company that stands by their product and can get a replacement to you overnight.

I’m behind on my follow ups here. Wilwood sent me another MC but I had to pay for it. They sent me a return shipping label to help me get the failed MC back to their engineering department and facilitate a refund to me. Anyway, the brakes are back and doing well. I am very happy with the hydro booster/MC combo.

Are your rear sway bar axle mount straps and rubber bushings deformed from smashing into rocks? Mine were. This pinching of the bushing caused it to wear quickly and my rig lost its ultra tight, road hugging performance........ haha.

I decided to contact Joey @NLXTACY at Wits’ end about the possibility of producing a more solid, abuse proof strap to fit the stock sway bar. Much to my liking Joey came up with a one off set of straps machined from aluminum. They came to me quickly and fit perfectly. A recent trip allowed them to prove there grit on the rocks of the Dusy Ershim trail. They took some good lumps and didn’t give up. Time will tell how the aluminum will last. A steel version might be the sure bet.
