Just wanted to drop by and introduce myself. A flying buddy pulled up to the airport in a 68 cruiser he rebuilt and it piqued my interest. He's been acquiring parts and has enough to build at least 2 other full cruisers. He made me a deal I couldn't refuse so we got started building right away. It's been about a month now and both tubs have been prepped and are ready to get started on the paint. Luckily, most of the drivelines had been completed on both frames. Axles fully gone through with new seals and bearings, disc brakes added, engine rebuilt, etc. One frame has a F with 3 speed. Both frames are ~72 vintage best I can tell. Matching SN's and tags.
The second frame has a freshly rebuilt F and I just installed a 4 speed with the split t-case. I elected to stick with the 3 finger clutch as there seem to be more parts for those floating around in the shipping container. I still have to acquire driveshafts and a shift stick for the 4 speed, but might be able to scrounge some parts to make that work. If not, guess I'll be digging around on eBay to see what pops up. This one also already had the shackle reversal installed, so I'll just keep rolling with that. Some things will be factory, but others will be updated to make it mine. I've acquire a seat kit from Bill Faulkner and a Jackson full roll cage for this one as well. At some point both will probably end up with a hard top. But living in FL, I suspect I'll mostly keep the bikini top on it. This cruiser will also be getting the full bedliner treatment using Scorpion and tinted to original paint codes. This cruiser will be mine in the end and the second will end up as the original owners, or perhaps he'll sell it. Still undecided.
Both cruisers have HFS 4" lifts and shackles. I'll keep the thread updated as work progresses. Looking forward to getting 2 more cruisers back on the road!
