Since getting my cruiser Saturday I've been working on some issues. I went to auto zone to get some bulbs and a new rear wiper blade. Got the blade on and noticed that the arm rested a couple of inches lower than the bottom of the window. I removed the plastic cover and removed the nut thinking that I'd just pull the arm off move it up a couple of splines and be done. Wrong!! The arm won't budge. Any tips on getting it off? A small gear puller maybe? Thanks for the help.

When mine get out of whack, I just twist the whole thing with the wiper attached and get it in a better position. It usually stays for about a year that way. I can never get the nut off, so you got further than me.

It will come off, it's just stubborn. The first time I did it I thought there must be a trick, nope, it's just on there pretty good. Gave it several good tugs and it finally came off. Then I just turned it to where I wanted it and reinstalled and it's been good ever since. Bending it up isn't the fix, well, the right fix anyway. Lol.

Spray the shaft with penetrating oil after you remove the retaining nut. Let it sit for a little while then lift up on the wiper arm a few inches and let it snap back to the window. Do it a few times. That should break it loose and let you remove the arm.

When i bought mine, I had the same problem. When I wen to remove it, the nut wouldn't budget, penetrating oil for 24hrs, still nada. I finally was able to get it off, but I sheared the nut/bot off, had to replace the wiper arm assy. Now its perfect

My real wiper arm was recently too low as well (below the window, resting on the tailgate)... I got the nut off and the arm came off easily after tapping gently on the wiper motor shaft with a light hammer. HOWEVER, once the arm was off, I realized that the wiper motor shaft didn't have any splines! Is this normal? Did my splines get worn off? I've never seen a wiper motor shaft not have splines!?

Super old thread but had the same issue. Plastic cap removed. Penetrating oil to remove the nut. The arm would not budge. More oil. Nothing. tapped lightly with a hammer on the bolt and all sides of the arm assembly around the bolt. Finally popped loose. Repositioned the arm and now all good.

I bought this years ago when dealing with the same issue. Used it for a million different things since:
