It is painfully obvious that the rear "wing" is useless at decreasing wind/rain/snow and everything else from the rear window. If anything it seems to make it worse. Anyone ever considered or tried adding a spoiler to the spoiler?

add something like this:

Just to see if it helps improve airflow and keep the rear window cleaner?

Just curious to see if something like this, even if just a very small strip would help.

Dan Gurney had the same idea. Does wonders for downforce at speed.

The rear wing does seem useless...makes me want to take it off and use the bolt holes for something useful.

I was wondering about using a vortex generator to get the turbulent air further rearward and off the back window so it doesn’t suck in and deposit all the cr@p on there

it ought to be possible to put something on the top of the stock-spoiler to generate strong enough vortices to fight the flow detaching from the sides of the car.

i found these online:

Will buy a couple to play around with and see if I can find a non-messy temporary way to attach them.

obviously the prettiest solution would be to 3D print a “bar” for the full-width.

Our wing is probably more about fuel efficiency than it is keeping the rear window clean.

The spoiler is largely there to manage the aerodynamics off the rear end - primarily for efficiency. It does more than one would imagine. Not whole MPGs worth, but significant as OEMs chase every single tenth. As it stabilizes the airflow and low pressure zone there, it probably makes the dirt collecting worse.

I'm wondering if just a small modification to it, adding a lip at the end of it for example would maintain its aerodynamic benefits and work better to keep the glass clean. Not a huge pain, just noticeable in a rainy climate that it doesn't seem to help at all.
