Rear window won't open (1 Viewer)

I cannot get the rear window to open from the outside. I can lock/unlock it with the key and manually. I can open the window with the inside release.

Is there an easy fix for this? Of course, if I can't get it open maybe I won't have to load the cruiser and drive a thousand miles to New York State to see my in-laws.

Take it apart and see! Sounds like the mechanism is hosed.
