if you search on pirate4x4, (try google w/pirate4x4 in parenthesis) there's a guy on there called rockape who has an awesome build thread called low budget pimpin' (or something like that) w/ a rear steer mini-truck axle....

67 FJ40 Buildup...

hE CUT The ends off of a front axle and welded them to a rear axle. That way the ring gear is not running backwards as if he just flipped a front axle.

routing

If you mean routing... Psc has a good pic of it on their website. My suggestion is to go to the rear steer valve first than the front orbita... Works better... Stay away from pricy 5 port orbitals... don't really need them..

that looks like a heavy rig, i wonder how the rear-steer axle held up under it? anyone know?

iirc, i think on the rockape one, yes he flipped the axle upside down but he made new slots in the housing and flipped the 3rd member back around so it would turn the right way

It didn't,
Jim ended up going to a RC D60 to keep it in one piece.

Toy steering axles have no place in the back of a rig IMHO.

Point made..

And not all of my cruisers have one ton junk. Just the ones I beat on..

Even lite buggies do not deserve a weak ass Toy axle in the rear.

It is a mistake to build something that needs nursing. Build it strong. And be done with it..
