Hi there,

I want to put shoulder belts in the back seat of my 1990 Hilux Surf. Has anyone done this? Is it easy? Can I just get the seat belts from an auto wrecker off a 1990 4Rrunner?

Thanks,

Wes

Nobodys done this? No tips, hints, tricks, things to avoid? Any help at all?

Wes

The same issue came up with the Nissan Safari's regarding the third dickie seat. If you do not find a place to bolt in the shoulder belts, then you will have to get it done - usually engineered - and then inspected for it to be legal. Sorry I can't be of more help. I suggest you look at a 4Runner which has them and then take off the carpet or panel at that spot and see if there is a spot for an belt anchor. If there is then you are home free. Just buy the correct belt from a dealer or second hand. Of course make sure it is DOT or SAE certified.

Good luck, John

I've done this mod in my HDJ81 here.

You probably do want to make sure that the belts from the wrecker retract, etc... before installing, but I'm sure it can be done in a similar manner.

Good luck!
