Does anyone know of somebody who has full rear quarters for a 40 made from 3/16 steel like what you can get for Jeeps that Poisen Spyder Customs sell? They are pretty slick they just bolt on with countersunk bolts. I was also wanting to do a tube fender flair. If anyone does some pics would be nice and how or who helped you make them.

Cruisertom,
Get ahold of Jim at Ridderfab in Appleton, WI he can answer most of your questions and fabricate them for you. I'll PM you his number.

 i've seen the tubular side protection, is that what your talking about?

give me a link and i'll see if i can make something up...

jim, its basically like diamond plate covers, but not diamond plate and covers the entire rear end of the truck with 3/16, very burl, i'll find a pic.

:edit: found it
This jeep has what he is talking about

I thought he possibly wanted somthing where the edge of the wheel well is lined with bent tubing that goes down and around to the rear bumper to provide a little flare and protection for the rear quarters. I have seen a pic of this but I cant find it any where. It almost looks like a rolled edge on teh well. Looks real nice if done right like the one I saw.

I believe these are what he is looking for but in a cruiser version

Thanks for the info everyone. I guess no one really has a production one out? The budbuilt stuff may work, wonder if they could just bolt on? The 3/16" steel would be nice to weld a tube flair onto. I keep crushing my bushwackers to the point they are ripping off of the screws. I like not having mud flying around and attracts less attention from the fuzz when the tires are mostly covered. Could be a great product if someone had a large enough roller? Tom

The BudBuilt stuff is weld-on not bolt on. Unfortunately they are not yet in production AFAIK...

HTH,

I had the prototype parts made for BudBuilt. Each quarter in 3/16 weighed about 30 pounds. The quarters went from the body seam behind the door around to the amby door opening and from the hardtop rail to the bottom edge of the body. I didn't think that was too bad myself.

Anyone tried these out? Wonder how well they fit. What is a good reference for the thickness of 12 gauge... more or less than 3/16? Would it be enought or would it be like the aluminum stuff and not worth the extra $$$ and weight?
I remember at one time Nolen (wngrog) had some side pannels made by I think CCOT but I don't think they have them any more, might have been a one off thing.

I got a set from Warrior the plan flat steel ones they are sick, give them a call directly and they can custom make them for you....
