My wife noticed water on her assortment of grocery items that she keeps in the cargo area at tailgate on PS. Anyone else noticed this in their 200s? I know my 100 has this issue but didn’t know if it is as common on these models? I need to fix asap. TIA!!

No leaks in my 2013.

Do you have an aftermarket roof rack?

Assuming not I'd start by looking closely at all the weatherstripping around the rear..

No, other than a basket rack on top of factory roof rails. That is what I was going to do this morning once it warmed up a bit, lol. Thanks

Yeah I'd start with that. Pour water around the hatch and see if you get any evidence of leaks. Next step would be to do the same on the roof around the the GPS/XM antenna and the roof rack feet (one at a time). Window seals might leak but that would be a first to me (unless something has been replaced i.e. due to an accident)

If you can't immediately find the leak you might have to pop some of the panels off to see if you can locate where it's coming from.

The annoying thing with water is that it finds the lowest point to travel, so it can come in one place but particularly in low volume will trickle along wire runs and come out in unexpected locations sometimes. If you can't find a leak in the rear I'd check the sunroof drains next... they typically drip into the front floorpans but who knows?

Are you saying that groceries that were in the back ended up with water, in the bags? Or she just noticed a wet spot in trim or carpet? Seems like a interior leak that could fall into grocery bags would be pretty easy to find. If there was actually a leak, and not just something spilled into the bags.

I seem to remember sunroof drains going down the C pillar. Just another data point, depending on where the wet area is.

Yeah leaked into the bags

I once had a leak in the rear hatch and it turned out to be a small stick that was stuck in the upper portion of the seal.
