Anyone have experience with this on the 200?

I'm in need (don't ask, yet). A quick search and it looks like the earlier 200 used a green tinted privacy glass, though it looked grey to me, and the later models went to a grey. If this is incorrect please let me know.

Also the rear hatch glass has a heating element and apparently on my 2009 the antenna. I'm wondering if this is a job for the national auto glass companies, or a dealer level service?

FYI, my insurance is covering it and I have the right to take it where I want.

I've had to replace my rear glass. This is a dealer or Autobody job. As you're prob learning, there's no aftermarket parts equivalent, which is s good thing as your insurance is taking care of it. ~$1100

Either way between dealer or body shop, they will have their glass specialists do it. They can even come to your home. I watched a 2 person team swap it in my driveway. The procedure is no big deal and common to many other model cars.

It’s no more complicated than the front glass with de-icer and what not.

I pulled all my glass out when I Line-X’ed my 200, and feel that any glass guy can do it just fine.

Now, not putting too thick of a bead of adhesive, that I’ve almost never seen glass guys do right.

Dealer was able to source OEM glass, but cant get it in and installed until next week. Due to timing and since my insurance is covering it I'm scheduled at Safelight this week. Since the 200 is such a low production vehicle, just getting glass is the hardest part.

Installed.

To my delight, OEM glass! The lead tech did the install, and is a Toyota truck guy, so he insisted on doing the job. He commented on how much better the OEM glass is than the aftermarket. If you look at the 1st photo, there are 4 alignment pins that fit into holes in the rear hatch. Add to that there are 4 short plastic strips that set the squish depth on the adhesive. The tech said aftermarket does not have these features.

FYI, the rear wiper, which I removed before the glass job was really corroded. I had to use a puller to get it off, and will clean and use anti-seize before reinstalling.
