I cant find it and need to get one to make a template to cover the opening when i get it media blasted.

Every one I've ever cracked open just had a silicone/rubber gasket. I don't think there is a paper gasket.

Ordered this from American Toyota. HTH.

I think your right, i noticed when i pulled my rear diff that it had orange FIPG.
I guess i'll just pull the studs out and make a template.

My '97 had a gasket & trace FPIG on the unlocked rr third member I pulled & I know I was the 1st to crack open - fr had same, and I ordered the same gasket pictured & a fr one with locker cut-out & went back together that way when converting.

Are all you guys who pulled a 3rd w/o a gasket 100% sure you were the 1st guy in there? It just seems odd the factory has a gasket & they wouldn't use it during initial assembly, at least to me.

42181-60070 is the correct number for the rear. Kernal, i didnt notice your post last night. It was one minute before mine. Thanks for the P/N

I've always just used fipg as a gasket. either black or red will work fine fine fine. Done this dozens of times on many many vehicles with zero leaks. Just be sure to clean it thoroughly before applying. And use a final wipe of gasoline as a primer for the fipg.

However, in your case, if you're making a cover for media blasting, a gasket will definately make the job easier.
