Rear door (upper hatch) stopped opening. (1 Viewer)

Yesterday, the rear door (upper hatch) suddenly stopped opening from the outside or inside handle The key and door lock control lock/unlock switch by the handle. The door lock actuator appears to be working It behaves like the door handles (outside and inside) are not working the hatch opening mechanism. It had experienced a couple of stubborn issues on the weekend that I was able to resolve by switching the lock back and forth.

Has anyone had this issue?

Can the trim be removed from the inside with the hatch door closed to expose the door lock mechanism to manually open the door?

Known issue. Will be good for some preventative maintenance before it ruins a trip.

Can't open tailgate

Hi Folks I can't get the tailgate open on my 2002 cruiser. I can hear the lock unlocking but won't budge. I go inside and try it from there and it is just stuck. Any ideas?:bang:
