Rear Diff thrust washer Q's (1 Viewer)

Hi guys,
I haven't been here in a long time ! So long that I had to re-register!
I have a question on my 65 fj40 rear diff pinion gear (Spider Gear) thrust washers.
I'm missing both. So far, all I can find is a set of 1978 gears w/ the "Cupped" washers that I need.
Anybody know:
1- if the 78 thrust washers are compatible with my Pinion(Spider) gears ?
2- if I can just use the 78 pinion gears & washers in my diff ?

BTW, The 78 gears are on E-bay, so I can't check them out until I buy .

Last time I checked, the cupped washers were still available from the dealer.

I have a pair of the cupped spider gear thrust washers out of my 65 FJ40 if you need them let me know.

I got some used ones as well if you need them. I do think that they are the same for lots of years but your best bet is to get some new ones because you don't want to grenade your diff for 50 bucks
