Anyone use a caliper tool on their rear brakes? If so, which one? I have a ratchet expander that works well on the front brakes but it’s too big for the rear.

Thanks!

I’ve just been using the same C clamp for three decades. Works great on the cruiser too

On the front if you do it before removing the caliper all that is needed is a screwdriver to pry against the rotor pushing the pistons back with the old pad backing plate.

Same here - good old c-clamp and a used up brake pad.

I bought one of those ratchet tools, but haven't tried it yet.

Yep, still have the same iron 4" c clamp I bought for my first brake job in 1989.

I just use the old pad itself. No other tools necessary.

With the caliper still mounted, I take out each pad and rotate them 90* to use as a pry. Friction material against the rotor.

I can confirm that the Lisle 29100 works on both front and rear calipers.

I've been using channel locks for years.
