After getting the steering done headed up to Coyote Flats for a second year extravaganza. Was up in the mountains for three days. Had a moment or two of some spicy wheeling, great company, great food, and a superb sweat lodge at 11k. Extra cool beacuase there two 100s, two 55s, a 60, and some other rigs as well!

So, I have a winch sitting at my house, but no way to mount it . I reached out to Dave at 4Plus after seeing that one for sale. He, however, has sold his Pig and got rid of all the jigs 10 years ago having only sold a few over a long period of time.
Anyone seen a nice looking front bumper? I know 4x4Labs has a front but I am not that stoked on it. Certainly not like his rear bumper which I hope to save up for.
I need a front bumper.

Building a bumper is actually a fun project, the worse results I have seen are either too large or to poorly welded, if you start with the home brew CAD method you’ll likely get a nice result.

Front Bumper Project

Well I finaly finished my "honey-do" projects for long enought to have some time to start building my bumper!! I'm pretty happy with the way it's turned out so far concedering this is my first tube bending project. I ran out of welding gas or I probely would still be out there...

Check this one out. A little curvey for my taste but suits the curves on the front.

I like how he tied the fenders into it as well.

I think the ARB style would work well, bring the wings out slightly to protect the fenders.

That’s one of Dave G’s bumpers, like the one that was for sale for $70 on CL. Basically take a piece of 4 x 6 x 1/4” square tubing and cut it up to make it look like what you want then weld it back up.

Yes that is the one that I had wanted to get but was not quick enough.
Gonna try to emulate that one.

Am finally done with the metal work rear wheels back. Gotta round out the wheel well aft, but that should be it.

Got this at the same place I did before. This time however I was able to get the rig home. AND almost made it over the obstacle. Really ‘rad’! Had front and rear lockers churning!

I seemed to have been lucky. I had one of those flat razors with a long handle. The glue was really dry and it flaked off. It took a bit, but was very satisfying!
