Rear axle shafts (1 Viewer)

I have some rear axle shafts and the bearing seats are kinda worn. I got some new bearing seats in my rebuild kit along with the bearing, but it looks like the seat is built into the shaft. Is this true. These are the shafts with the fine spline, not sure what year it came out of. Is there a sleeve for this??

Not sure - but they are probably pressed on - any machine shop can do it for you.

What do you mean by "kinda worn"?

I don't got any pics of it, but it looks like it had a bad bearing and scratched it up, and I hate to not use a new part when I got one. It's more like a small groove going around it. Kinda hard to explain.

There were two types of rear shafts used on the 40's and 55, probably ohters as well. One uses the actual axle as the inner race, and the other has a race that slides on. I'll see if i can snap a photo. BTW, it is my understanding they take the same bearing..... one just does not use the seperate innerr race. If you have this type, and its scored..... your screwed.
