Are the stock (and most aftermarket) rear shackles on a Toy p/u (say, the '96-'95 years) straight steel, or do they curve inwards from the top?

I only ask because I helped a friend put a set of curved ones on (ebay find), but then on the PBB, I saw otherwise stock P/U's with straight shackles.

What's the deal?

curved...the ones you often see aftermarket use a tube spacer at the top to keep the side pieces straight.

cheaters fix, but a good one.

er....guess ya mean the bottom? I thought they are wider at the top?

I only ask because people have asked me to make them shackles before, and I don't have a way (that I feel comfy with) to cold-work 3/8" plate for curved shackles...

Eskimo - I make 'em by using my hydraulic press and some break dies I got from a big break press. Got the dies cheap as business was closing doors and selling out.
