Real time - PCV Valve Grommet fell in

Currently in the process of changing valve and grommet. In the process the grommet falls into the valve cover, practically whole. Having a heck of a time trying to get it out as there's no extra room for a tool to slide out with the whole grommet. Any ideas before i attempt to break it into separate pieces and vacuum it out? Thanks!

Maybe one of these? Home Depot sells them.

Thanks but that's actually what I'm trying to use, just not enough room to pull it out with the grommet attached. I also put it through the grommet and then opened it trying to pull it up that way but no luck.

Just got it out with the tool posted above and a hair dryer so it would heat up squeeze through!

Same thing happened to me, I used a flex straw with gum at the end of it! Lol!!!
It worked!

So changing my PCV valve as PM and changing the grommet as well. My first grommet I removed at 160k was dried up and fell into the valve cover as stated above and I removed the cover to remove the pieces.

So adding the grommet in as PM as well. This one had about 60k on it and was already cracked and semi dried out.

Mine broke apart and fell in. I used a shop vac and made a nice recovery.
