I removed my center console to hardwire power to my GPS. Disconnected the "PWR/2ND" selectors and continued removing the console. I had to move the gear selector to several different positions to maneuver the console around and off the gear selector handle.

Moved it back to park.

Fiddled around under the carpet looking for the unused power sources mentioned in a previous thread. Found them but was only able to find a 5 volt source.

Gave up the project due to rain. Started buttoning every-thing back up. Tried to move the shift selector around to maneuver the console back on. It would not unlock to change gears.

Thought if I started the car it would move.

Car no startee. I get nothing. No click... no nothing.

Re-Connected the "PWR/2ND" selector.

Same story.

Everything seems to be working - radio, lights, clock, wipers.

What's the deal?

Sounds like the neutral safety switch got moved while you were adjusting the shifter. Take another look at when the shifter is in neutral or park to see if the switch gets engaged.

Oh wait I think I read this incorrectly, the shifter doesn’t move. That sounds like the lock out for the shifter. Try depressing the brake pedal and moving it, the key must be in power position.

FSM to the rescue.

Found an ignition fuse that had blown.

Don't know if my probing with the voltmeter caused it or it was just a wierd coincidence.

Whew. Had my wife's car blocked by mine with no way to get it out of park to push it.

Put the TC in neutral.
Will it roll while in park with the TC in neutral?

Well, I don't feel like going out to the driveway right now to try it, but yeah, I'm pretty sure it will.

Brrr! Ok, I just ran out there and did try it (seriously). It rolls. :D

Also you can follow the instructions in the owners manual, and insert a key or screwdriver in the lockout release hole near the top of the shifter gate, and release it.
