So my smog pump seized today. Fun.

Luckily, I was only a few miles from home, so I pulled the belt and limped her back. I'll probably go ahead and de-smog soon but need the truck for work. I know I can run the belt off the PS pump and bypass the SP, but then won't have PS. I was wondering if anyone had ever run a belt only around the crank and WP and, if so, what size belt would work in that application, if that would work for a temporary fix?

Yeah, I saw that post and that's definitely my last resort, I was just wondering if anyone had run a belt from the crank to the water pump while still keeping the PS/ALT belt attached. Thank you, though.

To do it the way your thinking, the belt would be too small to feed it over the fan blades and there would not be any way to adjust it. Your arms probably need the conditioning anyway.😆

You’re not not right, haha. Thanks for the help!
