I'm hoping there are a couple guys still awake on this board - I'm on PST. I've just pulled the valve cover on my '97 80 Series trying to find a coolant leak. I immediately found one of 5 one inch diameter plugs (one between each cylinder) down between the cams is seeping from the threads. Anyone here familiar enough to make a call as to what these plugs are? I'm guessing they're freeze plugs, or they're something to do with machining or casting during manufacture, but??

Thanks!

Part of manufacture - yes they can leak - you'll need to pull it, apply sealant and refit.
Beware - these are often VERY well seized in place.

At least the head's still fitted, so you can try the LOOOONG bar on it.
