putting my 13BT back into my BJ74, and I am down to one missing wire. Or I should say, there is a wire which I can't figure out whre it goes.

On the left side of vehicle, near the starter... there are two wiring harnesses that pass by the starter. One of them has a plug which is plugged into the VSV (I assume this is the VSV that controls the engine flap?).

The wire(s) in question... one red the other white (with, I think a black stripe)... both terminate in a ring terminal. Where in the heck does the ring terminal attach? I don't think it goes to starter... is this just a ground?

Can someone with a BJ74 please go peak under their hood?

Thanks in advance.

K, ya it does go to a ring terminal, it IS just a ground, or rather it appears to be, they bolt onto a bracket attached to the block… As to what they do, no clue, they seem to come out of a hiring harness that seems to go forward although don’t quote me on that…

On a positive note! As a result of looking I did manage to find a nice chrome vanadium wrench that someone must have lost in days past!

Heres some pics I haven’t shrunk them in case you want more res, so sorry to anyone out there with a slow connection ☺

thank YOU! I suspected it was a ground... but if it wasn't... I would have been introducing a very strange electrical gremlin, as you can imagine.

Again, thank you. Big big help. I'm off to buy some coolant, fill the radiator, check the oil, and fire it up!
