The people doing the work on my 81 are having a hard time finding the condensor which needs to be replaced. Apparently the generic aftermarket ones don't fit and the local toyota guys are saying they can't even order the part. I'm in lower mainland B.C. Canada - can anyone help? I'm going to try calling ATEB and Ciaran - any other ideas?

Ok I've made a few calls, no luck so far. Does anyone know if the Lx450 condensor is the same, or the one for the FJ80 (US model?). I don't have access to a parts cross reference list, and I don't have the part number that's on there now, will try to get it.

I talked to Ciaran who told me it's not usually the condensor itself that is a problem but normally rings etc inside. However, the shop tells me it's cracked and can't be repaired. They have a good rep so no reason not to believe them. Anyhow, they managed to find the part, which I am fairly sure is the same as the FJ80. I'll let you guys know when it gets done, but there's a wait for the part to get here, so it's gonna' be next week till this is done and finalized...

Just up, and missed all this. EPC shows the FJ80, HDJ81, FZJ80 all share the same. Split in dates in 93/05
Pre 93/05 is 88460-60060
Post 93/05 is 88460-60160

Yeah thanks Greg, we figured that out, it's all good now. Parts on order, I have a bit of a wait, but the good news is that the rest of the system is in great shape! I'll have to wait for my update on the Redtec.
