Thanks for all the help in the past, I am the guy that surprised his wife with the LX last year.

Now, if you leave the rear defrost button pressed when you park it for the night, it kills the battery by morning. I noticed that lt leaves the displays on real dim. And if you hit the button to turn it off... all the lights go out properly and there is not problem

Have you guys heard of this before?

Thanks,

Frank

Are you saying it didn't used to do this?

We did not notice it before, and it is a rare occassion that we forget to shut it off.

It is almost like it leaves the circuit open and the display stays on very dim.

Frank -

Try this: Leave the defogger on, and turn off the ignition as before to reproduce the problem. When you can see the "dim" light...

1. Pull the 10A "Gauge" fuse and see if the dim light goes out. Replace the fuse, then...

2. Pull the 20A "Defogger" fuse and see if the dim light goes out.

This might help assist you determining which side of the circuit the problem is originating from.

Thanks. As soon as it warms up today, I will post the results and see where to go from there.

Thanks,

As a temporary fix, try opening the rear hatch and gently "wiggling/manipulating" the wire harness going from the body to the hatch (upper left). I had some wierdness from the wiring there causing running lights to turn on when the hatch was open, etc. from a short, I never fixed it as it stopped after I wiggled those wires. Since the defrost goes through the same harness, it 's worth taking a minute to check.

Had the same problem after swapping my hatch for another. One of the wires was not properly connected and had to be fixed. Damn that was a lot of fun.
