Rapid clicking from steering column. (1 Viewer)

This evening I was driving around 65mph with the cruise control engaged. There was a very quick electric click click click sound which sounded like it was coming from the steering column. It sounded like a relay clicking on and off very rapidly then would stop. It happened a few times during the drive sometimes it clicked a few times and once it clicked nonstop for about five Seconds.
The cruise control never disengaged and it didn’t seem to affect anything else. The lights were on and they dimmed slightly during every click.

It also sounded like When I depress the brake and push the button on the shifter. There’s a click in the steering column that unlocks the steering wheel.

Is there a relay in the column that could cause this? Anybody have any other ideas? Search hasn’t helped me.

Still Having Shiftlock Problem

Help! I'm still stuck in Park...... not really, thanks to the manual override in my 97 LC but that is really a pain. I have no burnt-out tail lights, the brake lights are all working properly and the brake switch appears fine. Has anyone else had this problem??? :confused: SC

Ignition key can pull out of tumbler while in drive

All, I've searched and cannot find reference to the situation I experienced last night. I was able to pull out the ignition key while the gear selector is in DRIVE. - Is this a symptom of a worn out ignition tumbler? (LC80 has 2865K miles on it) - I tried a new key, same condition, tried...

brake switch (to get out of Park)

do any of you guys ever have issues with the switch on the brake? the one that allows you to shift out of park? i dont know if it's a common issue or not, but is it a relatively cheap and easy fix? there is a landcruiser with that issue and also one of the accessory pulley is not balanced...
