Rancho RS9000 on LJ78

Hi,

Go a set of Rancho's RS9000X for my LJ78 1992 part # RS 99144/99158 along with remote controller.

The original shock has bush at the top and pin at the bottom. Rancho has valve near the bush so if I fix it as is, will end up having the valve at the top of the shock, this way length is perfect.

My question is, can I fix an adjustable rancho shock with the value at the top rather than at the bottom end?

There seems to be a differance of opion on this mater, some so called experts say they will work upside down, it did not work for me.
