Went out this weekend and wheeled the Project 80, shot pics of Slee's t-case and a/c dryer skid plates, and just wheeled in the mud and rain.

Decided to do a little ramp test on a stump. Interesting results of this billybob ramp test. When it started to to tip/full extension at passenger rear tire, plenty of room was left in ramped wheel well. Truck is running 850J fronts, 863J rears, N73L fronts and N74L rears. Both upper and lower rear control arms were twisted tight in their mounts. What kind of results have people gotten on a proper RTI test with 35s?

We have ordered the heavy duty Man-A-Fre rear contol arms with the spherical ends which should add some flex to the mix, as well as the rear uppers (same spherical ends). I'll let you know what we find!

The 80 kicked a$$. Did everything that the other trucks did. Best part was a steep uphill that had a big boulder in the left side track. Front lockers: ON and up and over, rear bracket scraped, backed it up, went left, scraped up and over and summitted. Damn I love Cruisers! I had the only 80 there. In fact I've always been the only 80, it's usually 40s and tubed pickups.

Not a proper RTI - but played around similarly last weekend with a rock ledge. OME 2.5 medium front with 1" Mr Gasket and medium 2.5 rear. 35's.

The front passenger side "ramped" tire was no problem, room to spare. The rear driver's side, carrying all the weight, began to rub on the mudflap at about the same time that the rear passenger side left the ground. I knew 35's would rub at some point but I'm experimenting in an attempt to figure out just how to accomodate them. I'm thinking I need to install the front J's I bought, drop the rear bump stops a bit, add some spacers on the rear coils, and trim things up with the mud flap and flare.

Good flex.
My 80 regularly beats just about every other 4x4 in the area. That was before I put my new lift in.
The old lift was 2" Kings springs with standard length OME shocks, no sway bars and OEM rubber bushes.
I now have OME 418/421 springs (OZ spec comp), N73L/N74L shocks, no sway bars and OEM rubber bushes.
My mate has an RTI ramp but not sure of the angle. The old lift measured 2075mm along the ramp with 740mm vertical height. While the new lift measured 2155mm along the ramp and 770mm vertical height. These were measured with 285's running highway pressures.
I originally took off my sway bars when I put my first lift in because the bracket was broken. I've since gotten used to the body roll. Don't miss them at all (3 years and counting). Always manage to outflex other 80s, I put it down to the lack of sway bars.
I would like to put the sway bars back on one day if can find a good quick disconnect setup. The fronts are easy but the rears have got me stumped.

I'm a noob when it comes to computers and linking and stuff but I've posted some pics in a thread called "OME spring part numbers" so you will have to search if you want pics of my 80 on the ramp comparing the new and old lift.

BTW, I've run my 35/10.5R16 Simex's on the old lift with no rubbing but not yet on the new lift. Don't forsee any rubbing issues though.

I got my silver star finally so i'll post up some more pics of my 80 flexing

Wouldn't say lucky, the bar sticks out a mile, killing departure angle. It also weighs a ton, hence the new lift to counteract the weight. The price was a bit high too. It's a nice bar but there are better designs out there for my needs.
