Hey Y'all, I just got a RAM mount for my Ipod/Iphone because the other thing I had in there was kinda a piece of junk and a couple folks were asking about it so I thought Id post some pictures here.

I bought the parts from GPS central in calgary, they were a river shiver (RMLCA) sponsor so I purchased through them.

The arm and ball are made out of aluminum and is a very sturdy product. I have very little doubt that it will hold things in place instead of bouncing into a muddy floor in the middle of an obstacle or mudhole while wheeling.

For reference the part numbers were:

RAM-HOL-UN5, and RAM-B-166U

Nice! Thanks for the part numbers, too. So is the tray an iPad holder?

RAM mount has an iPad holder also....i have a RAM holder for tablet, you can fit different size of pc and choose the base depending from the tablet weight..
Cheers!

The tray is for my Acer asus. I use it for GPS, I built the bracket and had it powder coated for the laptop. I did a thread about it a while back. Part numbers are above.

I forgot to mention that the RAM mount was $52 CAD at GPS central in calgary, likely cheap for our southern brethren.

I was just thinking in get one if they made specific for Galaxy Note .. but thought that's not their target .. but this generic mount looks pretty good ..

They make another mount that works even better for phones, but was about $10 more. I was actualy looking for more of a doking station so that I wouldnt have a cord dangling around the vehicle when there wasnt a phone/ipod in it, but they didnt seem to have one yet. Its a two hand job to get the phone out of the mount and the cable disconnected, so having a "docking station" versus a holder was what I was aiming for in that respect.

This thing is so much more rigid than what I had though so I am very impressed at this point. I think the mount may outlive the cruiser actually.

At least if I find a different phone holder/docking station at a later date, which I can put screws to the back of, then I can reuse the windscreen mount and bolt it up.

Whats the maximum width you could fit in there? I was just on the dealer site but they dont make a cradle for my phone, im curious if it would fit in the iphone/ipod cradle?

How wide is the cradle? Id have to go check, but it looks like it gets pretty wide, maybe almost wide enough to hold an iphone sideways.

Im sure it would fit my phone then, and possibly even with my otter box on it! Looks like a good purchase though (still sort of bulky for my taste though)

I just purchased something very similar to hold my android phone. I bought it from the same place and I was really impressed with how quickly they shipped it. Less than two days to my door!
