Good evening, I recently bought a Pioneer double din to replace the factory radio in my 1999 LC. I made an appointment with my local car audio guy and the factory radio was working when I dropped it off. To make a long story short, the guy calls me this afternoon and says he can’t get either radio to power up. The new radio is installed but will not power up. He basically said sorry but I don’t know what to do. From what I can see, all the fuses are good. I would have preferred the working old school radio over an inoperable new one. Now I have neither. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ask the installer if the remote still works. If not, check the ECU-B1 fuse under the hood.

Time to troubleshoot. Do you get +12V on the "always" hot wire, and +12V on the ACC wire when appropriate at the radio? Can you ring out the ground wire to a separate chassis point with a DMM?
