I've swapped out my Toyota stock radio which was the large square unit. It took up all the opening in the dash so I'm guessing it was a two DIN opening. The replacement I'm putting in is a smaller one DIN unit. I believe that the FJ62's sometimes came with a one piece radio console frame with the one DIN opening for the radio on top and the bottom half of the space left open as a sort of parcel shelf. (I have that one in my other 62. I)At least I've always assumed it looked stock/OEM.)

Anyone have a dark brown "console" for sale in that configuration?

Thanks to all.

Bob

I have an 88 parts truck with a brown interior, I will look at my dash and get back to you

Thank you, sir.
I took a look at it today but didn’t have my phone to snap a pic. But this is pretty much the same setup:

With the plastic off there is a bracket that holds both the radio and the storage cubby below it. Tomorrow I'll try to get pictures of what is actually in my truck

Any auto shop should sell a little single din box to fit in the space.
Or a double din fitting with the box below the stereo mount.
Should be cheap.

This is what the stock setup looks like behind the dash piece. Two single din pieces stacked.
