Today I swapped out the tape deck for a new JVC apple CarPlay compatible head unit. Got the Crutchfield harness service for $24 and the process was completely plug and play. I took the side plates off the OEM unit and bolted them onto the new headunit, plugged it in, turned on, antenna went up — success! Not even a half banana. At the same time I replaced both 12v sockets next the ash tray. The left usb is attached to the head units rear usb input the right is a blue sea double. Finally I replaced the console and cup holder section around the shifter and transfer case. I also replaced the bubbled shift indicator bezel.
