Your allowed to be here brother , :)

i do see that one did imply you were not welcome 🤔

that's intriguing since i do not have a 100 series either , only a UNICORN JDM 2UZ-FE with JAPAN Spec. TRD features such as different CAM Shaft Part

Numbers , that have Higher lobe and lift then these base modle JAPAN ones running around here ..... :D

Maybe : @2001LC should click this link i have posted below , and give some REWIND thought time to reflect on his poor choice of words as he sits

here talking DOWN to others all while soaking up MUD , after that maybe he will consider not using the bully pulpit reserved for

" members whom are not SUPPORTING LEVEL Status minimum level " and post a apology to you here in this TECH Thread in OPEN Forum ?

@pasquinel , Please know this : there are no MUD rules to suggest you were at fault of anything negative here @ 11:09AM in the 100 SERIES TECH Section in this thread

so there is NO need to apologize to anyone for being here and contributing to what was a pretty neat educational TECH going on Regarding OEM RED and PINK

coolants ? you did nothing wrong hear , so please do not view all of YOUR MUD Time based on this rare BS ?

i have not seen this particular conduct before in my almost 15 years as a MUD member ..........🤔

i will not come back to this THREAD , due to what was said to you , ill PM you , to make sure you see my open , honest OPEN FORUM comments here .......

i have a SOLID working relationship with @cruiseroutfit / KURT , know that his BENCHMARK Level small business modle is one i aspire to do and be every single day

Photos or it does not exist right ? :

I don't know what your problems is ToyotaMatt.

I was simply pointing out, he's asking question on timing belt issue of a non 100 series. That he'd he be better served in an 80 series forum, where they can help. I assume he did not realized where he'd posted the question, as he has a (stated) 95 & 97.

I have both vehicles. Sorry for being here. I simply responded to a forum search return on coolant. I will make point in future to double check what search returns may or may not be follwed. Have a wonderful day!
I hope you did not take me wrong. Certainly you're welcome here by me at least. I was just trying to make your days easier, by suggesting you seek help where it can be found.

I presumed you got into the wrong section, by following radiator heading. I've wrongly posted more than once myself in 80 & 200 section, before realizing where I was.

No worries for sure! Just trying to get back on the road.

I understand. Really if it was me, I'd call Kurt at cruise outfitters, and see why they sent you that belt. He or one of his guy's may be in today. I'd help if I could. But I only work on 100 series which was first year of the V8. The guys's over in 80's series or go to Raising Sun web pages, is your best bet to get on the road fast. There's a bunch of 80 guys in the Raising Sun club here in CO. They are a great bunch of guys, and many are in or came from 80s.

Me when I'm in a hurry. I hit my local dealership, which about 3 times week. In-fact just got back with a Radaitor.

Good luck my friend. Hit me up anytime, once you've a 100 series.

i agree , however , this should NEVER have happen here on MUD , and there should NEVER be a reason for you to have to suggest that a THREAD we both were coming

away from with ever growing Positive TECH , be LOCKED due to the way that was done .....
I gotta vouch for @2001LC and say he's been a great source of valuable information to the 100 series forum. His contributions are clear and concise and he has helped many forum members. Redirecting a member to the correct forum section is a good thing to keep topics on track.

If it helps the mud community as a whole, I take responsibilty for not being in the right thread. I know I added a topic of timing in a radiator thread as well. I also did not suggest that cruiser outfitters was substandard, mistakes happen. I was simply sharing the situation as it presented itself.

If a community exists for us to share knowledge and such for our h8 of mud, I am only here to support that. So while, being new to some topics, I hope eventually to help out the next guy. We all had to start somewhere and these cruisers are how we get there. Peace.

What is OEM radiator availability like nowadays for the 100 series?

I have what appears to be a leaking radiator which only started after flushing coolant. I suspect I disturbed something during the flush.

Dealership quoted me 917 CAD for the radiator from Japan with 6 weeks lead time. They said there are currently none in North America through Toyota.

Any other options in North America?

View attachment 2980122might be Denso. Google for info.
I think the OEM manufacturer is Denso. If you need a new rad, Google for price at local parts store. I paid <400USD last year. Good luck!

OEM is a T-Rad, not Denso as one would think.

There are some OEM's around, for those not able to wait on the special pricing. We also have 2 PN# one more $ than other. Either works just fine. But they're going fast. If you need OEM now, best to call Local Dealership. Both Lexus and Toyota. If they don't have in stock, ask them to check local Dealership in area.

Denso a nice fit, but foam needs swapping over. If you like the foam air damps in place. there are other good alternatives. I don't know if they weep at lower hose bottom fitting as some do.

I like OEM best for fitment and foam, as I said. But have a fix for lower hose weep of aftermarket. Using OEM hose and Clamp.

I file, fill w/1282B FIPG and cure. Casting mark on lower goose neck.

Do t want to throw anyone for a loop, but I do have some on-topic content….

Just emailed Serra Toyota re my radiator ordered mid-March, for which I got a “order delay” notice on 31 MAR.

Guy wrote back very quickly—explained they were swamped, said I’m at least two weeks out from my order being shipped, and also said that PayPal had voided the transaction (I assume b/c of delay).
I asked where we go from here, and am waiting to hear back from him again.

Sure hope it’s not, “sorry, bud, PayPal voided it so you’re welcome to reorder at full price….”

That may be so, but I’m pretty sure cruisers outfitters knew I had a 95 hdj81 with 1hdft. Did the hdj 81 come with v8 engines?

Correction. Cruiser Outfitters was under the impression you had a 1/90-12/94 HDJ8x based on the information our team was given and noted in the quote you were sent last and subsequent order that was placed last June. Please reply to the email thread going with the team there at the shop, they have all the resources to get this settled asap.

PS. Why is this conversation happening in the 100 Series forum and Diesel Tech forum too?

Edit: read some more. Obviously I'm very late to the 'why is this happening in the 100 Series forum' discussion. Move along with your day, no answer required :D

I have a 1995 HDJ81, how do we arrive at 1/90-12/94? Are you stating here that according to notes, I said I had a 1994? I simply answered the associates questions when I placed the order. I absolutely have never in my life said that I own a 1994.

Yes, it indicates you have a 1994. The quote you were asked to review indicates the parts fit a 1/90-12/94. That was 10 months ago, I'm not sure how exactly we arrived there.

Hell I'm still not sure we arrive to talk about a 1994 or 1995 HDJ81 in the North America UZJ100 Radiator discussion thread. What do I know :D

The thread part is a whole different story of how things get off track when you are stranded and searching for answers. I hope to get back to the 80 or diesel sections and back on the road. Is this a sign that I should be driving a 100 series someday? Time will tell.

toyota always has 2 oem product manufactures making the exact same or same like parts :

- electrical YAZAKI and SUMITOMO

- power train chassis ASCO and AISIN

- cooling system , NipponDenso and TAMIYA ( spelling )

in case of afire , TSUNAMI or what ever production goes on ,

the just in case SH#T happens business modle approach

Fwiw: ASCO is one in the same with AISIN. They went by ASCO (Aisin Seiki Co. Ltd) until the late 1980's or super early 1990's though the word 'AISIN' started appearing on parts in the late 1980's so there is some obvious blur there. There was a great thread here on Mud where we hammered all this out many moons ago, I'll see if I can dig it up.

The ASCO logo was trademarked in the US in 1965, they expired it in 1992 (though it appears someone else jumped back on it?)

When we were buying a ton of discontinued NOS AISIN/ASCO gear from them, we got some really cool stuff including ASCO boxed and logo'd parts. Sadly that all dried up and we got our hands on all the old stuff they had left. I've still got some water pumps in ASCO boxes and ASCO hubs.

While it's true Toyota often has multiple suppliers of a similar part (such as Koyo and Timken), that isn't 100% the case. I've never seen a t-case or brake master made by someone else for example, certainly not two options at once for many major items.

For anybody who comes here in the future, I replaced the radiator cap with OEM and the overflow hose and two spring clips as well as they looked like they had seen better days. Refilled reservoir one time with about 2 litres and never had to add any more with no signs of leak. It was simply burping I guess and needed to be cycled through the hot air mode on all heater cores or the old cap was in fact leaking. Thanks for the help everyone, easy fix!

Ha! So I just checked with the dealer to see when they’d be shipping my radiator, and the POC said they were going to cancel the order as UPS has been trashing them in transit. Sounds like a packaging problem to me….wonder if I have any recourse.

I may be in a tight spot as I need it now or not at all (it’s a PM replacement, but we’re leaving on a multi-month trip in several weeks)….

I called Toyota of Decatur on Monday, according to the guy I spoke with they only have 3 guys on parts department managing the whole show, Eric is on emails, 1 is on the phones, and one is doing the inventory. According to the guy on the phone, to-date they have only up-to caught up until March 13 orders and haven’t went through the dates where that had a huge SALE. I placed my order mid of April when they had that sale.

Dec of 2023 maybe can be the date I receive my oem radiator lol.

WAIT, this is the fight thread. Not the serra thread, or is decatur not serra?
both threads ought to get locked if you ask me.
Ought to be an abyss where threads like these both go, so people can see the chaos-locked, unless you supported
mud- your VBB or Xenforo board to see them.
There's always animosity between the people that support forums to make money and the people that don't to make money.
In the 90's they were called leaches.

Lock it already
