I pulled the radiator on my 79 40. I noticed the radiator outlet (the small T pipe that connects to the lower outlet on the rad) is a bit rusty on the inside. I don't think these are available new any longer.

It looks like whatever finish was on the inside has deteriorated in some areas. Any suggestions on cleaning this up? Replace it will brass?

Option #1: Replace it with a used one in better shape
Option #2: Fab one up from brass or thick wall copper
Option#3: Have yours re-plated (I powder coated mine)
Option #4: Don't worry about it

I'd go with option #4 unless it leaks...

i wouldn't worry about it, but if you are worried, clean it up and slap some paint in there, along with fresh antifreeze.

Good point on the antifreeze. Over time it will not lose it's "antifreezing" or boilover qualities, but the anti-corrosives get used up. That is why the recommend a flush and change every two years with the green stuff and every five with the red stuff. Most mechanics I know recommend flushing out the red stuff after two years and replacing it with green.
.02;)
