Scrambling to get my chores done prior to winter. It was mid 30's already this morning here and was thinking of trying a block heater this year. Don't want to deal with a freeze plug install and was wondering if anyone here is running the kind that you splice into the radiator hose.

I use an electric one that has a magnetic face on one side so that it sticks to the oil pan.

I just have a wrap around my battery to keep it warm and sometimes I'll keep it on a battery tender. I was thinking about the same thing recently for coolant warming but decided it wasn't necessary. I think at a 50/50 blend the coolant is good down to -34 , which we did get close to last winter.
