Hello
I have a 1978 BJ40 that I need to remove the radiator for service.

I thought it was enough to unscrew 4 bolts but it seems to be much more complicated than that. I looked in the technical magazines I have and couldn't read anything about it. What is it really?

I would like to point out that I am French and I therefore ask you to forgive my language errors.

Thanks

if it is the same as an FJ40 radiator

drain coolant
remove top and bottom hoses
remove bolts that hold the fan shroud to the bracket, these should also hold the radiator to the bracket
move shroud toward engine
radiator should lift out

Hello 3_puppies
Thank you for your answer but I don't know if this is like on an FJ40. I never have an FJ40 here in France, it's very, very rare.

FJ40 radiator removal starts about 5:50. Spray all the bolts with penetrate and let it soak for a day or two.
Got any car people friends? There are like 12 bolts total, should be less than a hour to have it out.

THANKS
This video will help me a lot.
So to remove the radiator you have to remove the front grille?

No, it can done with it there. When I pull the engine/tranny/transfer as a unit, I take the fender off, lean the bib/grill forward, pull the radiator, take off the starter, then the header....
