Quick wheel question….

Heritage wheels must be different than base model.

They are an interference fit, so you’ll need a hammer and sharp metal chisel or something to get them moving.

It’s probably easier to shave the tabs on the center caps so they don’t hit the early model grease cap. That process is detailed elsewhere in this section. But you’d need to do all 4/5 so you don’t need to keep track of which will fit each axle during rotations.

Do you happen to have the link? I’m having trouble locating it to shave the existing wheel caps. Thanks!

Anyone know what lugnuts will be best for these wheels? Amazon link? I imagine I could use my current lugnuts, but I might have these wheels/caps and lugs powder coated so I would need some temps while everything was getting powder coated.

Originals only. And powder likely won’t last long given the pressure the socket will exert on the corners.

If you must have black lugs Toyota does make some that came on certain tundras (and maybe HE cruisers? Can’t remember)

They have a flat washer attached to the lug but allowed to spin free that provides clamping force to the lug pocket.. plus a tightly fitting shank that centers the lug in that pocket. there really won’t be a cheap alternative.

Thank you. I found a guy that does incredible powder coating on wheels about an hour away….but not sure if I’m going to do it. $170 per wheel for a 2 stage, but his work looks amazing. He does single stage black for $120 a wheel.

I’ll probably just keep them stock and paint the center cap since it has some fading and peeling of the black around the “T”
