How necessary is the adjustable panhard? Can you just do springs and shocks with no panhard bar and no sway drop brackets?

Sways will bind, removal will be necessary. Panhards will be OK, but plan to do them within a year. You will want caster correction arms to get the handling to be up to LC standards. SS extended brake-lines are a must with the L-shocks, that or modify your stock brackets (PM FJBen about this). Possibly will need a DC driveshaft.

Too much maintenance for me. The 2.5 will be fine for now.

Not maintenance, but a little work, and a good bit of coin. You could buy shocks, springs, and the control arms and be fine. Just modify the brake lines FJBen style, lose the sways, and just deal with your axles being a little off centered. You could also skimp on the control arms for a bit, just be warned that the handling isn't great at all, but no worse than an old haggard domestic pickup.

I couldnt do this for another few months so I was just asking. But if I do anything Ill just get ls and js with a spacer.
