In May, the fuse for my radio (2004 UZJ100) kept blowing. My mechanic found a loose wire that appeared to be causing the short. It was a blue-yellow wire in a harness behind the cowling in the PS footwell. The pin into the molex connector appeared to have worn out, leaving the wire free to move around and be a bad neighbor to other wires.
Tonight I spliced that wire to its mate across the molex, bypassing the molex connector altogether. This brought the radio back to life, but only through the rear speakers. The front speakers are silent.
Does anyone with electrical experience have any thoughts on what I can do to bring my front speakers back to life?
