I have been looking for the adapter plate to mate an sm420 to the landcruiser tranfer case any one out there have the specs on one of these so i can machine it. I would be more then happy to ship a finished one to someone who can provide specs or possibly one to reverse engineer. Please let me know.

Regards,
S. Scigo

P.S. If one is sent to reverse engineer i will pay for it so you dont have to worry about losing your investment

i think Woody had some made for the 465. I know he made a bunch and sold them a few years back!

i don't think anyone is making one currently, so there may be a need for a few! ;)

We have one that mates a 420 to a Fj40 case which should be the same, but we have absolutely no idea where and when it was put on, we bought it like that...

isn't he asking about the plate style adapter for the tranny to the tcase, not the the bellhousing/tranny adapter? (i think that your link is for the latter)

here's a link to the longer adapter (i think...) but he's after a plate adapter

nope youre right

you are right malphrus i am looking for the plate adapter so that i can reverse engineer it. I am going from 350 to sm420 so that is not a problem.

Well I didn't know the spline count but here it is. It is the link on the left of the my original AA post that says transfer case adaptors.

This is for the one to adapt a SM420 to a Toyota T- Case.

he is after a Plate Adapter, they are usually made of a 3/4" chunk of aluminum!, Here is the link to woody's install, i don't know if Classic Cruisers makes the plate still..

FJ40 - SM465 and early transfer install

I am pretty sure that Classic Cruiser still sells the plate adapter for the 465. I don't know what the difference between a 420 and 465. In any case the plate from Classic is a quality product. Solid steel as well - not aluminum. You might be able to reverse engineer the difference on one of the 465 adapters without much wheel reinventing.

Conversions

Good luck.
