question about hard top vent (1 Viewer)

i noticed in another post the 81 ebay truck , american trucks don't seem to have the little hard top vent .
is this a canadian thing ??? wierd ! or am i just blind ?

question i was curious what years had the little hard top vent .i don't see it in many pictures .i had one on 78 and a 79 fj40 . do not all the later years 40 have these ? don't know who's truck this is either

I am curiosu too. what does the inside of the vent look like? My rig has so many holes in it, an extra vent isnt necessary!

That's to let the exhaust gases out when they seep through the rotted floor.

heres a pic from a 78 top laying in my shed by looking at the pic maybe it was to help defrost the rear windows ??

whats dsl late model mean ? both my vented hard tops came on 78 and newer fj40's .

My '82 Canadian BJ42 has them... I don't have the inside black defrosters on mine like in the pic, though...

whats dsl late model mean ?

dsl= diesel....


Late model....anything past 1979 when talking about 40 series....but with this, it was talking about post 1982 diesel 42 series.
