Hey guys,

This may be a question more for my fellow Aussie mates, but I am just wondering why Toyota decided to run H4 and H1 high beam only headlights vs running all 4 lights as H4 globes? (EG all 4 lights having high and low beam).

I had switched to LED light assemblies (EG after market LED full light assemblies, not just LED globes) and while the light output is great, I can't stand the look of them so have decided to swap back to halogen lights. I am considering converting the H1 highbeam lights over to H4 to have more light on the road in low beam... just wondering if there was a reason Toyota didn't do this from factory?

(FYI I have upgraded the wiring and will be running +100% H4 globes).

Cheers

who knows why but lots of cars in the 70's, 80's & 90's that had dual lights on each side in Aus always had the outer ones as low/high beam and the inners as high only

those who made rules and regulations back then probably thought theyd be too bright if both were H4 and operated together
nowadays most of the headlights in new cars blind & dazzle oncoming traffic
