Why toyota engineers makes it this way?

My hzj78 looks kinda ill with this difference, but i dont want to put spacers only for "look" at least because of the additional stress on wheel bearings and mainly because i dont understand their reasons.

Im sure there must be something else than "leave it man, it works ok, lets go take some beer" dialogue in toyota factory

The engineers had to make the front wider to fit the massive 4.5L 1VD-FTV engine between the frame rails.

Thats what she said....

To make the rear track same width as the new front track Toyota would have to widen the rear half of the body of the troopy, ute, wgn and swb or have some kickass wide rear flares to cover the wheels. As I doubt they would leave the factory with rear tyres hanging 2" out past the guards .

Not many do like the look. A 30mm spacer on each side would hide most of it and not stress the components too much

I have 50mm spacers on mine per side and was the recommended spacer, I feel a 40mm per side would probably work better, and with stock 750/16 tires on the stock steel split rims they run flat with the load box. It is necessary to stick some fender extensions on since there is a tendency for some tires to pick up stones and throw them forward towards your side mirrors. I had to do this mod to save my own life. At 130-140 km/h on a good but well run out dirt road things chance for the worse unless you are some sort of test pilot. They should never have invented that damn saki.
