well, its coming along . . . found a generous friend with a garage and my brother is getting ready to pull the engine out of the HJ60 (it does need to be rebuilt afterall . ..sniffle :frown: ). The question is - does he need to pull the tranny too or can he pull just the engine?

when I pulled mine just pulled the engine. if you are concerned, to keep the weight down , and allow for a bit more height for the pull you may want to remove the head before you pull the engine out. Also helps when the engine is in for pulling the head bolts. LOL.
Have fun it is a fairly easy pull.
cheers Bob

either or, i usually pull both. it make lining it all up easier for reinstall plus this is a great time to replace the 3 seals in the transfer case.

just pulling the engine is easy as well.

cheers

When I reconditioned the 2H in my 60, I just pulled the engine only. Once the Hood, radiator, headlight surrounds and grill are removed, four bolts will remove the upper front section (where the hood catch mounts) the engine will come straight out the front.;) Make sure your hoist is up to the task, there's a lot of foot breaking potential there:eek::cheers:
