very nice Rudy, me likey...time to dump the 40 basket case and concentrate on this baby.....:D

I was thinking around 9:45 at the end of Southern.

Consider me there. I know Dad will be out of town, so I have to debate: do I steal his FJ-40, or take the faux-lux??????

Dan

945 got it. i am new to all this so going with people who know what they are doing and have recovery gear would be a plus. i am in a stock fj80 white. if i am not there don't wait. ill either catch up or see you next time. thanks for allowing a newbie to tag along

Steal the Forty !

I'll wheel the faux-lux :flipoff2:

Drive out to the mountains early enough and you'll get to hear it clatter when it's cold. :flipoff2: It sounds even cooler. I'm dead serious. I'll be heading into town around 8:30 for American. It's yours if you want to :steer:.

Dan

Per my other post, let's meet at the end of *NORTHERN* BLVD at 9:45. It'll be all virgin territory for us.

Bonfire: There will be more recovery gear than you can shake a stick at. And don't worry about a stocker - one of the Puerco's gems is that any route we've taken is as mild or wild as you choose.

End of NORTHERN at 9:45. Will leaving American by 9:30 be enough time to get there?

Would be 30 to 45 minutes.

I'm a possibility...

If you're commited we can push it back to 10:15. I'm in no hurry I just also don't want to affend those bothered by "burning daylight". You know who you are and you now what I mean. :flipoff2:

10:15... sheesh.

Might as well grab lunch before you head out. :flipoff2:

Can you refresh my memory on this location. I have a friend and his wife that are thinking of riding along. Can you believe he said Toyotas suck and mine looks like a grocery getter (stock ones kinda do).

Damn it Dan!!!

I got to much to do Saturday! Thanks for the offer though.

You should still wheel the 40 :D

9:45 at the end of Northern works fine. I'll just get to American earlier.

OK, let's split the difference and say 10:00 at the end of Northern. Northern runs parallel with Southern a couple miles to the north. Coming from the south and heading north on 528 pass Southern until reaching the light at Northern and head west until you can't drive anymore. If you hit Corrales Road on 528 you've gone too far north.

Bring lots of water and lunch and be prepared for hiking if we decide to check out some archeology.

I might be able to make it. I've been volunteered for the afternoon though - it depends on what time I need to be back for this:

And he's still a friend?

Whatever my opinions of other brands are I don't tell my friends and family that own them that their Jeep, Ford, whatever sucks.

Cool, 10 am at the end of Northern. Thanks again

Sorry - I can't make it. The wife and mom-in-law are both tied up on Sunday - so we are doing the Mom's Day thing on Saturday. Have a great time and get some cool routes. I would like to see the north end some day.

His opinion is based on the ones he has owned (not to well known for making a good decision). His last 4runner he bought used had problems and it does not help that he abuses his trucks too. When he said that about toyota it was when he trashed his rear diff for the third time. I only invited him to show if you take care of your truck and make responsible decisions on the trail it is a good truck.
