PTO & mech. winch- How do I git'er going?

1985 BJ70 - How do I get the PTO engaged for the winch?
Floor lever while in neutral? then engage the electronic 4X4 switch? Leave it in gear? Engage it while in gear, then shift to neutral?What? I dunno, and yes, I am a numbskull - that has been establish by others smarter than you.

I found the LC Heavy Duty repair manual - which was on-line - and in its depths is the how-to to get it going.

Don't forget to engage the winch at the front bumper. There is a black knob that pivots and pins in place.
