help me i have a 1987 fj60 and my poor baby i s now leaking power steering fuid out the rear of the gear box. Now the question can i rebuild this thing and if so where do i get the stuff and are there any little tricks to it???? thanks i just wanna be on the trails

"stuff" could be procured from Toyota or Cdan out here, and a FSM (factory service manual) should talk you right through it...

Good luck!

If its just leaking at the steering input shaft seal, it might not need a full rebuild. Its just an Oring and can be purchased from the dealer. The hard part is unscrewing the lock ring and the seal holder from the steering gear. Both have spanner holes to loosen/tighten them. The first one I did, I removed the whole steering fear from the truck. The second one, once I had the spanners made, I did without unbolting the gearbox. The TOyota shop manual has all the details.
