I've read through a bunch of similar issues, but haven't found one that's matched (but it probably exists), and looking for someone that's dealt with this.

If the running lights or headlights are on, the passenger side brake light is also on (bright). If the lights are off the pedal operates both brake lights correctly. The driver side is not affected, and works correctly in all situations (Off, dim, and brake).

Thing I've already investigated:
  1. Trailer assembly completely disconnected, and all wires tested for continuity around splice
  2. Checked connectors for damage, nothing visible, and all pins are firm
  3. Reseated connecters in the driver side storage compartment (jack)
Has anyone had this issue persist once the tow crap was removed? This hasn't worked correctly in the 4 years I've owned the truck.

I can post video later this afternoon, if my description isn't clear.

I'll check the bulb tonight, does the bulb have two states (dim, bright)? I just figured it was based on input voltage or something.

It has two filaments. Sometimes one breaks and crosses with the other and can cause odd issues like this.

Ok cool! Cheap and easy!

Does anyone know the bulb type? I can swing by Napa on my way home, getting gas now.
