Did you document how you adapted the master cylinder to firewall? That's on my weekend project list this week. I have some ideas but would like to see what others did.
I can take some pictures

Speedi sleeve and the cummins wear sleeve accomplish the same thing. I'd go the cummins route if it were my engine, looks like the cummins sleeve is thicker.

You definitely want to take care of that groove before putting the timing cover back on.

I like the thicker sleeve just need to get the tool now to press it on the crank too. Thanks Johnny.

Napa will have the Speedi Sleeve later today. Since it works with my seal and I’ve read good reviews and talked to some buddies I going to go there first. The loctite 545 will be here later today for the seal install into timing cover.

Got my elk rack back from our taxidermist. Makes a great hood ornament.

Napa has the Speedi Sleeve in so I decided to go this route because I could use my new seal and also good reviews. SKF #99250

Slipped on nose of crank and used dead blow to slowly tap the sleeve on with the install tool. Went on with ease.

Got the timing cover installed and finished bolting it all up. Installed the belt and started it up. Ran motor at idle about 15 minutes til the oil pan got hot and saw no leaks.

Now for fun I decided to try figment of the WARN series 12 winch on the 4 plus.

It doesn’t have enough room when the 4 plus is pushed back far enough for the bolt holes to line up.

Moved it forward and there is room.

This winch is a beast.
I think I need to weld extensions on the 4plus to allow it to go further forward and allow the 8 bolts to attach it to the 60 frame.

I’ve been looking at 12K steel cable with the roller style fairlead. One of our pump trucks had its steel cable replaced. They are a 6T hoist. I was thinking of just using the older cable it’s in good shape. One of our employees got it bent and damaged part of it but the cable is longer than the Series 12 will hold on the spool.

My clutch doesn’t feel like it’s pushing far enough into the master cylinder. Need to get the push rod to move farther forward and see if that’s my clutch issue with reverse.

Adjusted the clutch pedal and it has a longer throw. Took it for a drive and it shifts great through all forward gears. Pulled up to our privacy and as I waited for gate to open tried reverse and it dropped right in. Pulled back to pole barn and it did not want to get into reverse. Eased the clutch out about half way and it dropped in with out grinding.
On the test drive it drove great but there is a brief lull in the power band but then picks up again as I accelerate and shift up in gear. I’m with out a tach so don’t know rpms.

I ended up cutting the Dodge push rod and welding it to a bolt so I could mount it Toyota style and adjust it. I won’t be able to do any adjustments until I have it running. I did add some length to the rod.

Working on the clutch master cylinder I noticed a kink in the line between the master cylinder and the reservoir.

I rotated the master cylinder and while doing that found that it was hitting against metal one one corner of the fire wall. Cut the opening larger with sawsall.
Reinstalled the master cylinder with the hose supply to reservoir now going up.

Took it for another drive and the clutch felt a lot more solid. Got on the highway and it drove really nice. Pulled back up to our gate and waited for it to open and it went right into reverse. Pull around back and it still gave a little trouble getting in reverse.

:D it’s often the simple solutions.

Glad it's working better now. This is the tuning phase getting everything to settle in.

For the lull in power we'll try out some Injection Pump tuning to liven it up. I've got a few tricks up my sleeve. Just have to wait until we get those EGT and boost gauges.

Those are on order through @FJ60Cam. Adding the dynamic timing spacer should also make a difference. The reverse is just frustrating. Works great then throws a tantrum. Needs to work flawlessly when out wheeling.
